Yes! We have a flat screen TV in our main scanner room and two other flatscreen TV’s in our extremity magnet room. We have DIRECTV HD, so you can choose your favorite channel during your scan. Catch the game, watch your favorite TV show, or listen to a music channel!
Most scans take anywhere from 25 to 45 minutes to complete. Studies that require contrast will add 15-20 minutes to the scan.
No, you do not need to fast, however, if you are going to receive contrast with your MRI, we recommend having something to eat before your appointment to avoid nausea.
Due to the truly open MRI environment at Upright, patients can have family members sit with them in the scanner room and watch TV. Family members simply fill out a safety screening sheet prior to entering the scanner room.
Look for us in the Market Place at Journal Center shopping center 1 mile south of Paseo del Norte on Jefferson. Coming from Paseo, there is a strip mall on the left-hand side. Hello Deli and Satellite Coffee are some of the other businesses in the strip mall. We are tucked in the corner of the center in Suite 26.
We almost always have a 24-48 hour turnaround for your report. Once we receive the report, we will send it to your doctor, so make sure to schedule a follow-up appointment with your referring physician! If you would like a copy of the report, just ask a receptionist and we can send you one via mail. Once the report is final, your doctors office has instant access to the report and your images on our secure portal.
Yes, please bring your insurance card and state-issued ID just in case we haven’t received a copy from your doctor.
Before your appointment, a staff member will call to confirm your appointment and at that time let you know what your copay will be (if you have one). Many patients contact their insurance company in advance to determine their financial responsibility. We accept cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
Yes. Balances can be paid by putting a credit card on file. We will bill the remainder to your credit card over the following 90 days. Please contact our staff if you have need assistance with determining your copayments.
The Upright MRI has a weight limit of 500 lbs and the Extremity MRI has a weight limit of 350 lbs.
No, we do not. If you need additional medication to complete the MRI, you will need to get a prescription from your doctor.
